Theology of Work

Theology of Work

We spend most of our waking hours working, whether in the home, at school, in our community or in the marketplace. For most people work is tough. A recent Gallup poll showed that 70% of people feel alienated at work. Most Christians live compartmentalized lives – spiritual Sundays and secular Mondays and Fridays.

How can we live an integrated and fruitful life? By looking at what God says about work through his Word!

The Bible talks about work from Genesis to Revelation, it helps us understand not only “how” we should work, but “why” we work.

I have spent the last 30 years studying this very topic. As Co-chair of the Theology of Work Project: http://www.theologyofwork.org

I have worked with scholars, pastors and practitioners over the past 10 years to create a full Biblical commentary focused on
work.

On April 21, 2018, I was privileged to share what I’ve learned in a 3 hour seminar at Hope Christian Church.  Below there are two audio links along with a follow along worksheet presented at the seminar. I’m hoping this may change the way you think about your work!

Session 1 (April 21, 2018 – 55:05)

Session 2 (April 21, 2018 – 1:22:09)
